UBD Educational Visit To BMC. 2010-09-16

Sungai Liang, Lumut – 16th September 2010. Brunei Methanol Company Sendirian Berhad today received an educational visit from the faculty of science of University Brunei Darussalam (UBD) comprising a total number of 22 students and lecturers as well as exchange students from Kyoto University, Institute of Advanced Energy, Japan.
The purpose of the visit was to provide learning exposure in the process of a chemical company. It was also an opportunity for the exchange students to gain additional marks as it was part of their PhD syllabus.
The visit started off with a brief safety induction, followed by an introductory presentation of the plant which was given by BMC’s Production Manager. The presentation covered all aspects involved in the process of methanol production.
The visit then continued with a plant tour where the students and lecturers were given the opportunity to have a firsthand look at Brunei Darussalam’s first methanol plant. Before the end of the visit BMC’s production manager was presented with a token of appreciation from the visitors.
