ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENT RELIABILITY ENGINEER

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT

 

Responsibilities:

The purpose of this role is to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect the plant or business operations. Analyse information and trends in failure and recommend suitable maintenance programs to improve electrical and instrumentation reliability of the plant and its equipment.

Among the major responsibilities for this role include (but not limited to):

  1. Respond to breakdowns. Identify, diagnose faults and resolve technical or operational problems of limited scope or complexity under general supervision.

  2. Perform integrity diagnosis and equipment failure prevention diagnosis of plant equipment. Carry out engineering tests, analyse data, track failures and risks, evaluate performance, and advise Operations on parameters to adopt or re-adjust where necessary.

  3. Work with Operations to perform analyses of assets; including asset utilization, overall equipment effectiveness, remaining useful life and other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and costs of assets.

  4. Monitor production process to ensure produced methanol conforms to required quality. Proactively identify changes and anticipate potential problems by studying and evaluating trends and recommending corrective and preventive actions to Maintenance.

  5. Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures that adversely affect plant operations; including capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.

  6. Perform feasibility, risk management and process planning studies to support the development of new technologies and methods; be involved in design and installation stages for new assets, or modification of existing assets.

  7. Work with maintenance department to develop asset maintenance programs that include preventive and predictive maintenance activities, and preventive testing methodologies to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.

  8. Identify and remove non-value-added maintenance activities.

  9. Initiate and implement value adding activities by preparing and proposing maintenance reliability programs.

  10. Support Operations in failure prevention by analysing process non-conformances and providing corrective advice.

  11. Responsible for achieving the most cost-effective reliable solutions in maintenance projects.

  12. Develop, implement and audit electrical/instrumentation maintenance reliability programs.

  13. Prepare environmental and safety impact studies from electrical/instrumentation maintenance related operational changes and advise the plant operations management on the findings.

  14. Follow up on corrective electrical/instrumentation maintenance related actions resulting from internal and external safety and environmental audits.

  15. Follow up on improvement actions resulting from review audits.

  16. Responsible for correct implementation of corrective electrical/instrumentation maintenance related actions resulting from internal and/or external safety items.

  17. Prepare safety impacts studies from electrical/instrumentation maintenance related operational changes and advise the plant operations management on the findings.

  18. Perform, facilitate, or participate in root cause analysis mechanical/rotating issues.

  19. This is a Safety Critical role where you will be required to perform activities which include, but not limiting to, handling hazardous substances or equipment which, if not properly maintained, tested, inspected or operated, could lead to high-risk situations. Such situations could seriously impact the safety of self and others.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation and Control Engineering.

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Electrical/Instrumentation field.

ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

 

Responsibilities:

The purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day maintenance work through supervisors. Responsible for all electrical and instrumentation maintenance scope of work. Organize and bring together all resources needed to do planned and unplanned maintenance works. Respond to changing circumstances, working towards the most effective solutions to the prevailing maintenance.

Among the major responsibilities for this role include (but not limited to):

  1. Coordinate, Monitor and Execute all planned and unplanned electrical and instrumentation discipline of maintenance work.

  2. Implement preventive maintenance programs.

  3. Close communication and coordination with all other relevant departments.

  4. Monitoring operational conditions of Plant Electrical & Instruments and maintaining all relevant equipment drawings and data sheets.

  5. Intervening immediately in the event of breakdowns, failures, or malfunctions. Respond to changing circumstances; identify options and plan best solution for prevailing maintenance conditions and rapidly implement the remedial plans.

  6. Ensuring that all electrical tools and instruments equipment are kept in good working order; Quality of tools, machine, equipment, or plant maintenance operations, including those carried out by third parties, is in line with reference standards.

  7. Responsible for documenting maintenance activities as well as traceability of data concerning the certification of machines and equipment.

  8. Provide guidance on implementation of maintenance plan to supervisors and external contractors; ensure schedules are agreed to with supervisors and contractors and delivered at target levels.

  9. Assist Senior Maintenance Specialist & Maintenance Manager in providing input for Annual Budget proposal and preparation.

  10. Chair daily toolbox meetings and ensure that all aspects of the daily plan (operations, materials, resources) are agreed and coordinated with the relevant departments and that accompanying commitments are adhered to, and variances monitored and documented.

  11. Carry out weekly reviews of all outstanding jobs with respective maintenance supervisors and initiate actions accordingly.

  12. Constantly update knowledge and skills base to ensure that the most up-to-date and best practice methods are considered within the plant's maintenance areas whenever possible.

  13. This is a Safety Critical role where you will be required to perform activities which include, but not limiting to, handling hazardous substances or equipment which, if not properly maintained, tested, inspected or operated, could lead to high-risk situations. Such situations could seriously impact the safety of self and others.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and/or Instrumentation Engineering.

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in Electrical/Instrumentation field.

  • Knowledgeable in safety requirements for major turnaround and maintenance activities.

  • Having hands-on experience with Electrical and Instruments, attended major overhauls for gas processing facilities related to, but not limited to pumps, gas compressors and special purpose steam turbines will be an added advantage.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

 

Responsibilities:

The purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day maintenance work through supervisors. The role is responsible for all mechanical maintenance scope of work covering both static and rotating equipment. Organize and bring together all resources needed to do planned and unplanned maintenance works. Respond to changing circumstances, working towards the most effective solutions to the prevailing maintenance.

 

Among the major responsibilities for this role include (but not limited to):

  1. Coordinate, Monitor and Execute all planned and unplanned mechanical discipline of maintenance work.

  2. Implement preventive maintenance programs.

  3. Close communication and coordination with all other relevant departments.

CORPORATE PLANNING TRAINEE (SYSTEM & AUDIT) [I-READY]

CORPORATE PLANNING & AUDIT DEPARTMENT

 

Responsibilities:

The purpose of this role is to support continuous improvement across the company by managing quality systems and audits, ensuring alignment with international standards, the company's business plan, strategies, and objectives.

Among the major responsibilities for this role include (but not limited to):

  1. Monitoring of process and data collection to track performance of existing processes, including gathering and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement according to business needs.

  2. Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure process efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.

  3. Work closely with various departments to gather insights and feedback on process challenges including facilitating and supporting the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies.

  4. Assist in the design, testing, and rollout of new or improved processes / change management during implementation phase.

  5. Support in conducting scheduled internal audits and prepare reports of the findings and ensures timely closure of proposed mitigations;

  6. Track, monitor, follow up on audit findings and issue non-conformity reports for internal audits.

  7. Establish and maintain an efficient and effective document control system. Maintain, control the identification and location master list of documents.

  8. Prepare monthly report on audit results / status, document control report and analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Economics/Mathematics/Engineering or related field.

  • Familiarity with relevant management system standards such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), or ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management) will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

The purpose of this role is to support budgeting, data management, and reporting to drive informed decision-making. Key tasks include assisting with budget planning, monitoring plant-related data, ensuring data accuracy, and generating performance reports. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain data integrity and provide insights on budget and production trends. This role offers an opportunity to build analytical skills and gain hands-on experience in corporate finance and planning.

Among the major responsibilities for this role include (but not limited to):

  1. Assist in budget monitoring, tracking, and variance analysis. Track budget allocations and spending, conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies, and prepare summaries to highlight areas needing adjustments. This role involves supporting budget adherence and uncovering cost-saving opportunities to align with financial objectives.

  2. Manage and update data related to production information regularly. Maintain and update both commercial and plant-related data, ensuring timely and accurate inputs for metrics like production, costs, and output. Collaborate with other departments to verify data consistency and resolve any discrepancies that may arise, contributing to reliable production tracking.

  3. Generate and maintain accurate reports for corporate planning and performance reviews. Create and maintain regular reports that consolidate budget and production data, supporting planning and forecasting needs. These reports will capture performance trends, helping the corporate team assess alignment with targets and identify areas for improvement.

  4. Support data analysis to provide insights on metrics relating to corporate performance. Conduct analysis of financial and operational metrics to reveal trends impacting corporate goals. Translate data findings into actionable insights, assisting the team with budget adjustments and strategy decisions based on data-driven evidence.

  5. Collaborate with team members to improve data quality and reporting processes. Work with colleagues to enhance data accuracy and develop efficient reporting processes. CORPORATE PLANNING TRAINEE (SUSTAINABILITY) [I-READY]

CORPORATE PLANNING & AUDIT DEPARTMENT

 

Responsibilities:

The purpose of this role is to support the Corporate Planning and Audit Manager in leading and managing the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the sustainability program and associated initiatives across Brunei Methanol Company (BMC). The role considers strategic and operational impacts of the program initiatives and their alignment with BMC Greenhouse Gas Policy and regulations. The successful candidate will be supporting to drive BMC Sustainability Program and its Greenhouse Gas Plan.

Among the major responsibilities for this role include (but not limited to):

  1. Supporting sustainability projects and initiatives across the organisation, with a focus on implementation and engagement.

  2. Maintaining collection and reporting of sustainability data for reporting and submissions.

  3. Interfacing with communications teams to produce collateral, communications, and related media.

  4. Facilitating, supporting and organizing meetings. Supporting the implementation of environmental initiatives orientation, sustainability program and practical support projects.

  5. Acquiring knowledge of current best practices, innovations, sustainability tools, energy and emissions, climate adaptation, waste and recycling.

  6. Conducting other responsibilities aligned with the position level as assigned by the Supervisor and the Brunei Methanol Company.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management/Sustainability/Environmental Engineering/Chemical Engineering or any related field to Environmental Management.

  • Having basic understanding of current global, national and state issues with respect to environmental sustainability and resource management, demonstrable capability and skills in developing systems and processes to collect, manage and report sustainability data will be an added advantage.
