BMC was honored to engage with the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II, at the talk titled “Gearing up towards Wawasan 2035: An overview of Budget 2024 and a look into Foreign Direct Investments,” on 9 July 2024 at the Mutiara Ballroom, Radisson Hotel.
Organised by the French Bruneian Business Association (FBBA), the event gathered members of the diplomatic corps and key stakeholders to discuss Brunei’s economic trajectory towards a diversified and resilient economy as outlined in the Economic Blueprint.
Our CEO, Mr. Jesús Enrique Mora Marín and Corporate Planning and Audit Manager, Mr. Lau Wey Juen, attended the event, underscoring BMC’s commitment to engaging in strategic dialogues that shape the Sultanate’s economic landscape and contribute to achieving a sustainable economy for future generations, aligning with the third goal of Wawasan Brunei 2035.
The program began with welcoming remarks by His Excellency Mr. Bernard Regnauld-Fabre, Ambassador of France to Brunei Darussalam and Patron of FBBA.
YB Dato Amin Liew emphasized the importance of the Economic Blueprint and provided a comprehensive overview of Brunei’s 2024 budget, offering valuable insights into the strategic direction and priorities of the nation. Additionally, he addressed the foreign direct investment environment, emphasizing its crucial role in Brunei’s economic growth and sustainability goals.
