On 13 October 2022, Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd (“BMC”), in collaboration with the Department of Adat Istiadat Negara (JAIN) conducted a training entitled “Terasul dan Bahasa Pengganti Diri (Bahasa Dalam)” for its personnel.
The training was delivered by Awang Mohammad Zaizul bin Haji Daud, Adat Istiadat Officer from JAIN. 30 participants attended at the SPARK Mini Theatre at Sungai Liang as part of the efforts to enhance the participants exposure to the protocol arrangements, as well as the proper addressing language when greeting royalties and titled individuals following Brunei customs.
BMC is all about being inclusive. Although 85% of BMC’s employees are local, the company has a diverse workforce consisting of expatriates from Japan, Venezuela and Malaysia. Not only does the training help to deepen the knowledge on the uniqueness of Bruneian Adat Istiadat, it is also an initiative by BMC to preserve the continuity of the national philosophy of Malay Islamic Monarchy amongst its employees. Live streaming was also made available for its personnel at the Main Office.
The session ended with the presentation of the token of appreciation that was handed over by BMC’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Mu’izz bin Dato Paduka Haji Alikhan and a group photo session.
We are deeply appreciative to JAIN for their time and effort on the programme.
