As part of our commitment to community spirit, BMC is honored to be a sponsor of the Pesta Pantai Lumut 2024 (Lumut Beach Festival 2024), a three-day event held from 30 August to 1 September 2024 at the Lumut Beach Recreational Park.
Organised by the Kampong Lumut 2 Village Consultative Council, in collaboration with the local communities, the festival was held in conjunction with His Majesty’s 78th birthday celebration, marking a historic revival of the event last held in 1998.
BMC’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Saifullilah Hj Ahmid, officially handed over the sponsorship to Hj Khairdon bin Hj Dahlan, the Village Chief of Lumut II. Also, present as a witness was Ramli bin Hj Abd Hadis, Deputy Chairman of the Lumut II Village Consultation Council.
The festival celebrated our rich cultural heritage featuring traditional arts and music. A highlight was a 15km bicycle ride on 1 September 2024, led by the Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman.
Aligned with our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy #RESPECT, our support for the festival demonstrates our commitment to making a positive impact beyond methanol production. By contributing meaningfully to the communities we serve, we support the future of the Lumut community and stand alongside its residents in celebrating culture and unity. We look forward to more opportunities to engage with and uplift the communities we proudly call home.
