Today, 10 July 2024, our CEO, Mr. Jesús Enrique Mora Marín, warmly welcomed Mr. Masaya Tanaka, Executive Officer, President of Energy & Chemicals Company of ITOCHU Corporation.
The delegation also included Mr. Tsuyoshi Matsumoto, Group Chief Operating Officer, ITOCHU Singapore Pte Ltd. and Mr. Ken Fukui, General Manager, Basic Chemicals Department, Chemical Division. Mr. Fukui also sits on the board of directors of BMC.
During the visit, our representatives in BMC shared an overview of our operations and strategic direction to the delegation, followed by a tour of our methanol plant facilities, where the esteemed delegation gained firsthand insights into our operational progress.
The engagement was also a learning opportunity for BMC, as ITOCHU Corporation (being our shareholder) is a major and historical Japanese trading house.
During their two-day business visit to the Sultanate, the delegation explored potential synergies in the downstream oil and gas industry, facilitating discussions with the Ministry of Finance and Economy and the energy sector on collaborative opportunities in innovation, sustainability, and growth.
This engagement marks a significant stride in strengthening relations with our shareholders and fostering collaboration within the energy sector, in support of industrial development in the local downstream ecosystem.
We look forward to building on this foundation towards a diversified, sustainable, and innovative future in the downstream oil and gas industry, aligned with Brunei’s aspirations of Wawasan Brunei 2035.
