As part of BMC’s commitment to youth development and fostering future talent, we sponsored micro:bit kits for the students of Sekolah Rendah Sungai Tali, Lumut II on 24 September 2024.
This initiative aligns with our CSR strategy #RESPECT, which reflects our dedication to nurturing young minds and supporting the students' education in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM).
The micro:bit kits provide essential learning tools for building customizable and programmable robots. Each kit features a smart "brick" that manages the system and can be programmed using child-friendly coding platforms. Designed to teach the fundamentals of programming, these kits foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in an interactive and fun way.
The handover was facilitated by our Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr. Saifullilah Hj Ahmid, and warmly received by Assistant Principal, Ms. Hajah Suyanna Binti Hj Mahmud.
Sekolah Rendah Sungai Tali, Lumut II has participated in events such as the World Robotic Olympiads and Brunei Robotic Olympiads in 2014, and more recently, the Brunei ICT Awards in 2023, demonstrating their dedication to robotics and information technology at the primary school level.
Through this sponsorship, BMC aims to spark the curiosity and passion of a new generation of innovators, empowering students to excel in their academic journeys and future careers. We believe that investing in today’s youth is an investment in tomorrow’s leaders, and we look forward to seeing the students’ continued success in technology and robotics.
