In celebration of His Majesty Emperor Naruhito’s 65th birthday, His Excellency Mr. Kikuta Yukata, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei hosted a memorable reception on the evening of 26 February 2025.
The event took place at the Songket Ballroom, Rizqun International Hotel.
BMC, along with other Japanese-owned companies operating in the Sultanate, came together to honour the occasion. Falling on 23 February, His Majesty’s birthday coincides with Brunei Darussalam’s National Day, further symbolizing the strong and enduring ties between the two nations.
The evening commenced with the national anthems of Japan and Brunei Darussalam. H.E. Kikuta Yutaka delivered welcoming remarks that highlighted the friendship and economic collaboration between Japan and Brunei.
In attendance as guest of honor was Minister of Health, The Honourable Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar. The reception provided a platform for meaningful engagement, further strengthening diplomatic and business relations. Guests had the opportunity to visit exhibition booths highlighting the contributions of Japanese-owned companies in Brunei’s economic landscape.
